FXS port is a port allowing the connection of an analog telephone FXO port is a port allowing the connection of a POT line BRI port is a port allowing the connection of an ISDN line GSM port is a port allowing the connection to a GSM network with a SIM card (slot on the G01 module)

 2. How to choose the configuration of an Asterisk IP PBX ?

Each IP PBX is delivered with one or several free slots allowing simple or dual modules FXS, FXO, BRI or GSM. Each IP PBX has the Asterisk 1.8 program pre-installed allowing the connection of IP phones and a VoIP provider via Internet. IP02 : 1 free slot for dual module AX210S (2xFXS) or AX210X (2xFXO) or AX210XS (1xFXS+1xFXO) IP08 : 4 free slots for dual module AX210S (2xFXS) or AX210X (2xFXO) or AX210XS (1xFXS+1xFXO) IP4G : 4 free slots for GSM module G01 IP2G4A : 2 free slots for GSM module G01 and 2 free slots for dual module AX210S or AX210X

4. Can the IP0x be connected to telecommunication networks? The IP04 has been tested to meet the following standards: FCC Part 68, FCC Part 15-B (USA); TBR-21, EN55022, EN60950 (Europe); S002, S003, CISPR 22, AS/NZS 60950.1:2003 (Australia). IP01, IP02, and IP08 have no certifications. Note that in your country it may be illegal to connect uncertified equipment to the PSTN. They can be used to connect them to your VoIP provider however.
